Like to write code? Like to volunteer? Wish you could combine writing code and volunteering? For the last few years I have helped run the Give Camp at That Conference. That Conference is a regional Midwest developer conference focused on polyglot development of “all the things”; web things, client things, mobile things, robot things, etc. That Conference originally setup camp in August of 2012 and has been running strong every year sense. Each year, That Conference has sponsored various pre-conference events including an event called “That Give Camp”. That GiveCamp is a volunteer event where developers can give back….with code! For the last few years we have partnered with the Humanitarian Toolbox, a charity organization with the sole mission is to support disaster relief organizations via open source software and services. This year, That Conference is hosting That GiveCamp again and your invited!
The 2017 GiveCamp happens Saturday August 5th through Sunday August 6th, co-located at That Conference at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. The Give Camp starts ~8am on Saturday and will “formerly” run through Sunday. While the GiveCamp will run Saturday/Sunday, giving goes on 24 x 7 x 365. Interested in some binary giving?
